Double check my Clubsport rear spring assembly?
I have been installing KW Clubsports and have not found any detailed instructions of how to assemble the springs. I have installed coilovers before on other cars but they had true real coilovers. The part that confuses me is that there appear to be a 2 sided aluminum spacer/retainer, which I put between the small spring and the large spring, and there was also a one sided purple plastic spacer which I did not put anywhere.
And the camber plate tick marks should face the front as shown, right? Anybody care to take a look? Thanks in advance. |

Based on this it looks like the small spring goes on the bottom and I need to switch them. And it mentions something about the original smaller ring not being used, I'm just confused as to where it was used originally.

The double-faced spacer is intended to join the two rear springs as you have done. That part is correct.
The plastic ring goes on the lower rear spring seat to act as a buffer between the aluminum control arm and the spring. The factory uses a rubber ring that you're supposed to remove. This is referred to on Page 10 of the instructions in the link. I don't think it matters which spring is up and which is down, but since you have to take it apart to insert the plastic buffer, you might as well make it match the instructions. |
