Entertainment presets

I just noticed all my presets on the 6 buttons below the stereo have been erased somehow. Any thoughts on how this happened?

Used the second key? Battery getting old/low? Those are my two guesses... The presets, like seat positions are key specific. If not that, either a random electronic gremlin or the battery is the issue. Let the car sit for a while to go to sleep and see if they come back...

This problem was "troubleshot" by our dealer technicians, etc., several times, before I realized it was my wife's key.

To make it even more frustrating, we were on a road trip (OktoberFest) when my wife returned to the car before I did on a gas/food stop and all the entertainment presets went away along with the MDM settings, etc "mid-trip". Of course I did not realize the problem at the time.

Glad it was finally solved.

If my wife gets into the passenger seat with her CA key in her purse, and I come along 5 minutes later and put my CA key in the ignition, will my key settings prevail?

I've trained the wife... when we're out together she know's not to touch the door handle before I do. Even though we listen to the same style of music I don't like the order of her radio presets. I'm also 6 feet tall and she's about 5'6" so the seat position memory and mirrors are drastically different between our keys. Plus she doesn't like the automatic 3 blinkers and I love it. She prefers to hold the turn signal lever while changing lanes!!!

The odd time that the car does pick up her settings I force her to get out so I can lock and unlock the car with my key so it reverts back to my settings. I tried that once while still remaining in the vehicle but it didn't work, I'm pretty sure you have to actually get out, lock then unlock the car from the outside for it to pick up the proper settings.

I've never tried inserting the key in the ignition to see if that would work though, worth a shot!!!

Christ, comfort access is starting to lose its appeal. Guess I'll use the button to unlock when my wife is shotgun.
