Realization - Autoport
Good day,
I am in Halifax right now and will be here for about another year. As far as I can tell this is the entry point for all BMW NA vehicles, at least for the east coast. There are shiploads of bmw's that roll in here. I drive past the autoport almost every day. Hopefully I can get the first shots of the M3 on our shores when the time comes. Probably alot of your cars that are on order will be here first and when they arrive I will get pics of the rows of them and post them for you to see....... |

Why do you say Halifax seems to be the entry point for all BMW NA cars?

I read that in an article about cross border car shopping on the Canadian Driver website, they used BMW as an example. I can't remember if it is the only one but they said that it was the main point of entry. Geographically it also makes sense, as it is the closest mainland port to Europe. There are literally huge parking lots full of rows and rows of BMW's.
That is why Volvo used to manufacture cars here as well, proximity to Europe. |

One thing that I have noticed about the cars at Autoport are that the BMW's come off the ship naked for shipping and that every Audi comes draped in a custom fitting white car cover with huge logos all over them. The cars leave here on trains and trucks and are relatively exposed. Will make for better pics though.
