I tried starting another thread so he could update us, but that one devolved into an argument as well and was locked (like his original thread).

Hopefully his lack of response means he's been too busy going back to Germany for free on BMW's dime and picking up his corrected order as it should be

Latest news is good, but it's not yet time to celebrate. They are saying that they are going to build my car as requested, but I wont have confirmation for another week or two. Typically the Germans mean it when they say yes, but I wont believe this for sure until the car goes into production with the right options. The current production number does not yet reflect all the options that need to be on the car.
And more than two weeks after the disaster started, I was finally contacted by someone from BMW's customer service division. They are willing to offer me some compensation for the trouble, but we have not finished the conversation. Cross your fingers, but things are looking up!

Glad to see this. I was following the story (and the resulting uncivil comments) and hoping all turned out well for him. It would be great to hear the end of the story.

That's great that they are building what you originally ordered. So your order was Atlantis Blue, with black interior and piano black trim.Wasn't Atlantis Blue first available as an Individual color for the E46?

The car wont be the last one since they are prioritizing my build. It's going to be built in the last week, but likely not the last one.
And I wouldn't want the last one. The last thing I'd want is to worry about having to preserve a car due to possible collectability.
