What do you guys think of this M3?

Check out the carfax.

I think the price might be too high based on the "minor accident"? Obviously, I'll need to look at the damage repair report, but what would be a good price to pay if it's truly minor?

I think that looks like a sweet deal assuming the accident doesn't turn up anything alarming. I'd personally be all over that if I was in the market right now for an E92!

Love the black too! Inside and out!

well, hopefully OP's car isn't a salvage, but all salvage title M3s are less than $40k. So in this case, your example isn't comparable.

i know, i saw that description and I said that's a lot of gibberish without saying anything substantive. They're not fooling anyone...

My old boss use to tell me, if you have no value (or knowledge) to add when you write something or talk to someone, just keep your mouth shut so you don't look stupid.

devil is in the details, it's all about what the accident was about. my guess is, they had about $3k to $8k worth of fixes performed on the car...

with these cars you want to bring it to your friendly mechanic and have them put it on a lift. Check for excessive wear from previous owners tracking the car.

If any metal damage, I'll pass.

I would first get a second opinion from BMW service mechanic in your area. The last thing you want to hear is that you have a hair line crack in your engine block afterwards. I learned this lesson the hard way twenty five years ago with my first BMW (320i).

I was not happy then.

OP: I'm interested to know if you pursue and either buy or decline this ride.

BMW of Austin has no more used M3s (for now...) so I suppose they'll get harder to find in good shape with low miles. That accident wouldn't scare me off personally... I'd have it inspected though.

I bought a used M3 and my 2 biggest worries were a prior accident and if I was buying a previously modded or tracked car. If modded or tracked, they probably beat the piss out of it. You don't want the warranty to run out and start having problems. I wanted to meet the previous owner so I could ask a lot of questions and judge his character.

The car might be fine if they beat the piss out of it, but why gamble to save a few thousand bucks? Plus if you buy it in great condition, when you go to sell it later it will be worth a little more money.

I'm leaving the country for a week, so I won't get a chance to look at it right now.

BMW of Austin is the highest priced dealer I've seen. Additionally, I looked into leasing a bmw from them last year, and the "internet manager" kept playing games with the numbers. I know exactly how a lease works, and all the hidden tricks. He kept playing clueless with me, until I finally told him that I thought he was incompetent at his job.

Yep, my concern is future resale. We'll see, there are enough M3's popping up to find a good one, I'm just making sure I find a good one at the right money.

If people on the Internet followed this rule, the entire Internet would be about 2% of its current size!

well...lol, I was talking about a professional environment, I meant that ad posting was just filled with garbage...and wtf did he put it all in caps? It's an assult on the eyes. If you want people to notice, and actually spend time to read your shit, short, terse phrases, sentences, or bullets will garner more attention.

I'm not worried about whoever wrote the ad. I talked to a salesman this a.m. and he didn't know anything about the accident history, but while I'm out of the country this week he said he'd get the details. We'll see. I'm a little skeptical.
