so....my side mirrors got stolen

so... I came out of a restaurant, and feeling like shit (after the heats won, no pun intended) ,saw that BOTH of my side mirrors were stolen.

Im still pissed but whatever shit happens.

anyways i dont see a scratch or anything around where the mirror used to be so got me thinking, is it that easy to take these mirrors off?

well at least that c*nt was kind enough to leave the wiring in tact...

oh and what do u guys think i should do for the repair?
should i go to the dealer?
should i go through insurance?

any legit suggestions would be appreciated

Someone stole ripped off one of mine while I was at a hockey game. Mine almost looked like it was sawed off as there was just a metal ring left on the mount. My deductible for vandalism was only $100 on a $1200-$1500 mirror, but was still annoying and a pain in the ass. Some people just can't respect the property of others.

Sorry to hear that but at lease they did not mess up your car, not sure about your deductible but I would go through insurance for the repair, these mirrors ain't cheap.

WOW!!!! this bring back bad memories. I also had mine stolen TWICE!!!!!!! from my car. They are extremely easy to take off. I did a test run and it literally took me less then 3 mins to take off both with no problem!!!!. The first time the a**hole didnt know so he cut the wire connecting the glass. So he took a mirror that would be useless no dimming or defrost. 3 months later must have been the same guy who came back and did it right and took both. . Not to mention these freaking glass mirrors cost 350 to 390 each!!!! from the dealer. So i felt your pain good luck buddy.

Sucks, but find a silver lining on this shit cloud and upgrade to the euro spec concave/blue glass. EAS has them and they're probably not more expensive than the U.S. standard glass if going through insurance.

Head up...

I've never heard of this.

I'll have to call my ins co to see what my vandalism deductible is. The way I drive, which is all within 2 miles of my house, I'm bound to piss off the wrong person eventually.

I can't stand those mirrors. I've driven a good hour or 2 total in cars with them and just can't get used to them at all. They look cool though.

I'd just pay my $100 vandalism insurance deductible and let the dealer install new ones

Man this is just a horrible feeling! Laws in the U.S. is weak cuz theft in other countries hands gets chopped off!

What restaurant was this? Day time or night time? How long were you in the restaurant?

Progressive. EDIT: Just checked paperwork and deductible was $500 still better than paying in full

That sucks. Go through insurance.

Time to call IND for GTS mirrors.

sorry about your luck man! I concur, go with the euro concave glasses, you can still do it within the rules of the insurance, in this case you provide the parts and they will compensate you.
