Shift BOG.... How to avoid it?

So I thought maybe I was hitting the redline and had my fuel cut or something. I have read around and came across this magic word "shift bog" Im not really sure what it is but would like to find out and figure out if there is a way to avoid it. I get on it sometimes in 1st gear and when I shift to 2nd my car boggs down for a second then picks right back up. Please help

Shift a little bit earlier, you're hitting the soft limiter and then it's trying to shift after, so there is an interruption/bog when that happens. It could also be traction control intervening. Try shifting 100 or 200 rpm sooner and use MDM or DSC off and you should be good to go.

THIS

The best thing about 6MT is that the car tells you when you aren't doing it right

I see that. I have only had the car for a lil over 4 months and put only 1700 miles on it including the pick up/drive home.

+1. OP, I find it very had to actually read the tachometer when driving like this, so my advice is to learn to hear/feel when you should shift instead of looking at the RPMs. That will get easier as you get more time in the car under your belt. For most driving situations (basically any other than being on a track), short-shifting slightly (a couple hundred RPMs) is not going to matter.

+1. Agreed. It seems odd to say, but you'll soon know what ~8000 rpm sounds/feels like.
