I'm on ECS's website and they have genuine bmw NGK plugs for 156$ or NGK plugs for 86$....

Are the two the same or is it worth the extra money to go with the BMW boxed ones?

As long as the part number is the same, NGK makes the plugs, so yeah, they are the same as the branded (BMW) NGK 4471 LKR8AP.

One more vote for Amazon - same as BMW plugs without the OEM tax.

Thanks guys! I was wondering why they'd be twice the price but share the same part number..

Will the dealer do it at the 37k mile mark under warranty or do the plugs have to show excessive "wear" to be replaced?

Every 10,000 km's is overkill but since my car is SC I believe in preventative maintenance.

The plugs on the S65 are utilized as part of knock control.

Rockauto.com is consistently cheaper than Amazon. Look for a 5% coupon code to add to the savings. I've used them 2-3 times for different cars in the past year. Fast shipping. Best deal going.

Any of the big B&M stores are a good bet since they have coupons ($10 off, 20% off, etc). Most of them can order a special plug if it's not in stock.
