Which one would you do?
This is just a thought that I've had for a while, and I think it could be a nice little discussion and possible poll.
Is the new M3/4 good looking to you? Will it do everything a bit better? Probably, but is that all you care about? What do you think about the new M3/4? Is the M3/4 going to sound any good? These, and many others, have been on mind for a decent portion of the past 3 months. I know some might say it's too early to speculate, but does it hurt? I think the new M3/4 is awesome, but I don't know if I like it better than my E92 M3, let's face it, i'm honestly just not sure. The better part of me wants a new experience, but the other half of me loves everything about the E92 M3 from it's flaws to its perfections. And sure there are other exciting cars, but what if you wanted a last go at M before trying a Porsche. So, this brought me to the main question: Would you rather mod your E9x M3 to perfection... or buy a new M3/4? Let's see where this goes Last edited by ki__; 10-31-2013 at 11:41 PM.. |

I only have a 335i, but honestly, I'm a modder. I'd rather spend half the money on the car, then mod it to make it exactly what I want. Why spend so much money on a base car, when you can have something uniquely yours? I hope that makes sense. Either way, they're both beautiful cars. I personally think the only thing getting me out of my E92 is an M2, and that's assuming one happens....

I think the e92 m3 was/is probs my most loved car of all time though. this engine is fuking GREAT. the new M4 looks pretty badass. i hate the new engine though. which is why i wont get it.
if i didn't care about what people thought/ keeping up with current models. i would make my E92 everything i dream it could be. but sadly i like to dress to impress. i look at a E46 m3 and think its OLD, i don't wanna drive a OLD car. maybe at a different point in life i wont care though. i will probs be looking at another car in 2 years. |

New M4 it will be a lot easier to gain more power for cheap since it is turbo.

This is what I'm thinking. Now do I get a Santorini Blue or Signal Green M4?

I've learned over the years, mods don't pay. A new updated generation car usually steps it up a notch though

I'd go with the M4 and mod it as necessary in the future.

Love how close the poll is. I think getting an M4 might be slightly more entertaining, but I don't know for sure. I can't wait until Chris Harris and Jethro Bovingdon gets their hands on one though. That'll help.

e9X m3 + SC + BBK > M4
Plus, from what I have heard, breaking into the computers to add power via boost alone is getting more difficult due to how high-strung the engines are from factory. Only pulling an average of 50-60 HP from an M5/M6 with a tune seemed low to me (maybe its just me, but you can get this from a stock C63)...but you will have a hell of a time getting that from an I6 vs the M5's 4.4 V8. The modding scene may be a bit more challenging with the new M's... but I sure hope not for the mod lovers out there!

Turbo motors arent just about tunes though right?
There are opening up the exhaust. Intercoolers. Piping. Cams. Bigger turbos. Any if these plus a tune will net bigger gains. Or can just go factory tune and call it a day. Wish it comes with overboost function for tracking out though |

Keep the M3 and mod to perfection. Wait a few years for them to iron out initial kinks/come out with competition package, do ED or buy lightly used F10 M3. Apply savings towards supercharger for E92.
Then I have a 4-door daily beast and a 2-door track monster. The new sedan looks way better than the coupe, the opposite of this generation. Plus I get to keep the historic 3, no filthy even numbers on MY trunk. Last edited by EvenSteven; 11-02-2013 at 12:28 AM.. |
