Greedy dealer?
A BMW dealer from Buena Park CA is selling a M3 Coupe for $101,534.00 plus fees! So I called the dealer and they said that is with "Adjusted Market Value". And they said they have one for $97k in different color...
Greedy?

If someone's willing to pay it, can you blame them? I don't think it's a matter of greed, it's just ignorance about what the market will bear.

An Audi dealership appraised my 08 e92 M3 fully loaded with 30k miles back in 2011 for $21,000. They said the appraisal was based on adjusted market value too....

Yep, they're getting while the getting's good--or at least that's what they think. Trying to make bank before new M3/M4 comes around. A few months on the lot ought to adjust their "Adjusted Market Value" down to actual levels.

I've learnt that despite a crazy price, an even crazier person with money will buy it. There was a fire orange m3 at my local dealership. It was just sitting in the show room for months and even had close to 10k discount on it. Even with that discount, the M3 was still over 90k on the road. No one bought it. It was a 2012 model and 2013 was close. The dealership decided to put on some cosmetic parts, splitters, spoiler, etc. It was sold soon after at well over 100k, a 2012 showroom model that has been worn out by countless amounts of customers sitting in it. Moral of the story is, let them be greedy, and let people be stupid. Both will be happy at the end of the day.

There is a Porsche/Audi dealer in my town that I have been going to for years. Admittedly, they treat me very well. Lots of small favors, always nice loaners, etc. However they still can't help trying to nickel-and-dime me when it comes to sales, despite the fact that my family has bought a lot of cars from them, and I have referred a lot of people there. I have come to accept that it is simply in their blood. I don't hold it against them. However, it has cost them also. They have low-balled me twice on trade-in value, and have lost those trades as a result. Will they learn? Probably not. Most dealers are just too short sighted and have the mentality of someone living paycheck to paycheck.
"Non-Greedy Dealer".......Now that would be news !!

When things get rare there is always SOMEBODY with the $$. I collect unique Haworthia plants sold on E-bay. When the bidding on a 1.5 inch plant hits $2,600 I'm pissed but that's life.

It must be Shelly. I'm not surprised though. Back in 2011, they were selling m3s at 500 over sticker....market adjustment etc. wouldn't budge on price, kept telling me that this was a rare and limited production car. This dealership is especially delusional.

Maybe I'll bring my car down and see if they will buy it for $80k. Based on what they think the market will bear they should be able to turn a nice profit on the resale.

I'm greedy, too. If someone wants to buy my car for $125k, PM me. Rare color! Low miles! Never been tracked!

I did and it took me till now to be able to type this. No really that is the highest I've seen but most sell for $2-600 for 1.5 inch babies. I have seen large, old rare cacti for sale for $40,000. Nuts but what would most people think of $200 oil changes?
