any other way to look up vehicle history?

Aside from carfax? Would a bmw dealer look up the vin for me and give me the entire service history?

Also does anyone know why a vehicle would be sold at auction? The car im looking at was sold at auction 2 years and 3 months after the 2nd owner leased it according to carfax.

oh ok. i always assumed the dealer that it was leased from kept it and sold it as a used car.
