New Owner + EAS Shout Out

Hi all. Been lurking for a few months and finally pulled the trigger today on pallid7's '11 DCT ZCP silverstone coupe (thanks again pallid7!).

I flew down this AM and met with the owner, worked out the transaction and headed back towards the bay area. On the way, I stopped by EAS to have some minor updates done on the DME. I wanted to take a moment to give a huge thank you to Tom at EAS. Not only did he squeeze me in VERY last minute for a pre-purchase inspection, but did it again on my way back home today. I have pretty damn high standards for shops and EAS gets top marks from me for customer service and product knowledge. I ended up chatting with Tom for quite a while and really enjoyed picking his brain. Oh, and to top it all off, in my haste to get everything done today, I forgot to eat. When I realized this, I was in the parking lot at EAS and low and behold, there was a taco cart and they fed me too! Really love this shop, only wish it was in the bay area.

As far as the car, I already had a lot of seat time in another '13 M3 that I rented for a road trip. I was so impressed with it that I decided to sell my daily driver Golf R and pickup an M3. So many great things about it. It is probably the best all around'er I've ever driven. I'm looking forward to getting to know the car better on my commute and eventually at the track. Just hope my GT3 doesn't get jealous

Thanks to the community for all the great info I've gleaned while researching the cult of M3.

Congratulations! Sounds like things couldn't have worked out any better and you now have what is technically called a "wet dream" of a garage...E92 and GT3

Cheers

I would never call any car I own a beater. All are cared for very well. The M is my daily driver. Wife (who previously owned an '09 335i) drove it today. She came out of the car smiling, warning "Uh, I might be borrowing this one a little more". The good thing is, that was my intent

"Beater" is simply a figure of speech. Hence the bunny ears I put around it. I meant daily driver, but yes its inspirational to see your garage.

Damn. Can't think of a nicer pair...

Love SSII in low light. And love hearing the love our car gets from guys who have experience with finer cars, such as your GT3. Just convinces me again that I made the right decision, not that I need it!

A few days in and the love affair continues. Drove her hard on some local mountain roads and came a way giddy. Then drove her to work today. 21MPG on my commute. Owning this car might be very good for my stress levels.

What Berkeley meet?

Also, for those in the know, is Santana Row C&C still happening? I also just heard about a Marin C&C. I only moved up here early last year and am trying to rebuild the network of car crazies I had down in LA
