Congrats and enjoy your M! You'll find it very hard not to smile every time you get behind the wheel!

Between the 2hrs I drove it home last night and the 2hrs I drove it around today, here's my impression. The camaro had way more power 470rwhp (due to mods) and it was just raw power so it was much more noticeable driving around. The M3 just moves so smoothly tho, I have to continuously keep an eye on my gauges to see where I'm at.. I have to get used to pushing down on the petal a bit more now, letting the RPM's climb to hear the motor and really get it to move.. Cruising speed on the highways (70-80mph) is a whole different experience now.. The camaro cruised around 1600 rpms, M3 like 3200. I LOVE the instant acceleration on the highway, I just couldn't get enough of pushing the petal 2mm more and be passing cars like they're standing still.. The only thing is I feel like I'm missing a gear because of it and in the back of my mind I can't help think engine longevity? The additional comforts the M3 has just nite and day compared to the camaro, although I do have to admit that the camaro seats were a bit softer. The M3 seats feel firm, and they just hug me and make me feel all safe, where the camaro seats had room to move and felt like a lazy boy. Still debating on which ones I like more lol.. Found a road not more then 10min from my house that is nothing but twists and sweeping turns, up hills and down.. The road seems like it was carved out of the surrounding mountains for enthusiasts to test their cars.. I don't even have to explain to you guys how the smile never left my face as I dove into each turn well above the posted 20mph speed limit and felt like I could have taken it faster then I did.. Something of note tho, at a light on an incline, I noticed that the brakes wouldn't release immediately upon releasing the brake petal. Found that they just stayed engaged for a little bit before finally releasing and allowing the car to roll back. This a safety feature on the 6MT cars so you don't roll back into anyone? Are my brakes sticking? Just curious.. Best feature is having the amount of power it has and it's whisper quiet.. The camaro with mods was just loud, on the highway the drone was just to much.. Now I can whisper to the person next to me or in the back seat and they hear me just fine. Plus now I can listen to the awesome stereo and not have it be drowned out by the exhaust drone. I'm in love.. I want to go back out and drive around just because.. Matter a fact... I'll be back in a few hours lol..

3200 RPM for S65 is low, you are fine to rev this engine. Just make sure your engine is warmed up (temp reaches the middle). 1600 RPM for S65 is where it is almost stalling lol. What you described at the light is the hill assist in 6MT M3s. If I were you, I would update to M5 shift knob (a pretty cheap mod). Also upgrading the exhaust is a must. Take a look at OEM Exhaust mod first. GL |

Welcome fellow JB 6MT owner You have definitely made a step in the right direction. Good call on the first easy cosmetic mods. I would recommend the first thing you do after those is to put a better exhaust on the car. BMW Performance, Dinan, or Akro. It's a V-8 and these exhausts make it sound like it. No drone. BTW...like many muscle cars, the Camaro SS will beat the M3 in a drag race but the M3 will smoke the SS on the track (stock v. stock).

Welcome aboard man. Have fun. The difference between raw power and refined power is something you cannot imagine until you experience it.
