Looking to buy an '08 E92 M3, need advice
Hey guys,
I am currently in the market for an E92 M3. I've been shopping around and have found a few that are within my budget. Now, I've had two BMWs in the past, an 07' E90 335i and an 01' E46 325i. The E90 wasn't a problem maintenance wise because it was a lease. However, I remember very fondly the sheer amount of headaches I faced with my E46... So my question is, PPI given(btw, should this be done at a BMW dealership?), are there any major problem areas I should be looking to 100% make sure are checked up on? The mileage ranges will be from 50k to 75k.. Thanks! |

Check the DCT pan for leaks, I got the dealer to fix it before buying. Seems somewhat common though not a big deal to fix.
Bring it to an indy shop and have them pull the codes see if there's anything abnormal there. |

Google research BMW shops (doesn't necessarily have to be a dealership) and look for the one with plentiful positive reviews.
Otherwise, happy hunting! I was ecstatic when I found my M.

Get the service history for the car, if car was serviced at dealership.
Hopefully it would reveal items fixed under warranty by the original owners and If they over paid for dealer oil changes. Generally would tell you if you have to potential spend a lot in future repairs. Ppi at the dealership was 315 out the door. |
