Silly Question: Black or Silver Wheels on AW?
I know everybody will have their opinions and it's just their opinion and I should just get what I think looks best, but I WANT to know your opinions.
I used to hate black wheels, but seeing them on AW, it's grown on me quite a bit. To me, it makes the car look a bit more aggressive, and makes the white look even more flat. I've always liked silver, for their classy, classic look. And I think they look good on AW. Ahh, the wanderings of the mind while we hurry up and wait... |

IMO they both would look good, so I can understand your struggle.
For a white car, I would go with the black wheels. |

The problem is we're not going to be able to order actual black wheels. They're a two tone black/silver. I'm considering wrapping mine in a matte black.
Here's an AW w/black wheels E92 I saw at Sebring last week. This car has me leaning towards AW after flirting with Sakhir Orange. |

With AW the silver looks classier, the black looks more badass. I'm going with AW and I'll be using the car a lot for business, so it's silver for me. If I were lots younger I'd probably choose the black.

I generally prefer silver wheels and from pictures that goes for the M4 as well. However if the car and wheels are of very bold and striking design I can prefer black. Like this:
Note, the engine isn't bad looking either... |

I laugh every time somebody references colors based off supercar looks. No pun intended.
Of course black wheels will look good on that Aventador. As would just about any color in existence. Supercars will look good in almost any color. Normal cars won't. I had both black and silver OEM wheels on my M3. In the end, I ended up sticking to silver. IMO silver looks classier. If the wheel design/structure complements the car well, then you absolutely want to show it off. And the only way to do that is via a color that's not dark. To me, dark/black wheels all look the same. And that's not a good thing. |

Silver all the way, black wheels are boring (and often ugly). |

That's the thing about the wheel design/structure. IMO, this is one particular design where black sort of stands out, because they're pretty thin and the rotors/calipers show. About the 2-tone. Really?? They looked good?? I don't like the 2-tone look. Granted, I've not seen these exact wheels in the metal. I definitely agree the black looks more 'bad-ass', where the silver are more classy. But both look really good to me. Maybe I should just get a mix: gunmetal, lol. Or, just get silver, and let em get REAL dirty, and I'll have BLACK! Well, more like chocolate. I have the same issue with YMB. IMO, both look good. Black with blacked out grills and a black interior, or silver with SSII interior. And I actually AM considering the smurf color, as well as SO. |

I actually think the best looking M3 is one with dirty silver wheels. And no, somehow it's not quite the same as gunmetal. Most pads (including OEM) will turn silver BMW wheels on gray within a day or two of driving. So the way I look at it is that I really only have (true) silver wheels for a day. Laugh all you want, but it's true |

Having never seen them in person, I feel the same. I've seen other two tone rims, and they just look too aftermarket to me. Even OEM or ones from awesome makers like ACS.
