Any Prior Owners Who Owned Both E92 and E92 w/ZCP ?

I had contemplated waiting for the ZCP and LCI before I ordered the M4. I'd be interested in hearing opinions of prior owners who had the last generation car in both regular trim, and then traded up to a M3 optioned with ZCP. Was it that big of a difference from a performance perspective? Did ZCP sacrifice any sort of daily drivability?

Not a huge difference. 1st M3 2008 :no ZCP. 2nd, 2012: has ZCP. I like the ZCP option. Better turn in,crisper feel. Better looks also. Slightly rougher ride. Use comfort mode on trips. Sport on back roads. I'm not going to wait on my M4. The option isn't that big a deal to me. More curious about exhausts, tune etc. to make the M4 perform better.

ZCP steering feel (your turn in) was a result of the offset change of the ZCP (359) wheels.

I owned both - Second one was ZCP - Got it mostly for the new wheels, and didn't want to play with ride height again so even though it wasn't much the 10mm drop was preferred.

Anyone know the offset and width of the F car wheels compared to the ZCP of the E car's?

same width, less offset. offset really doesn't matter though since its independant to the width of the track as well.

I had a 2008 E92 6 speed and still have a 2011 E92 LCI M-DCT with ZCP.I much prefer the ZCP car as it more neutral & controlled on track compared to the non ZCP car which had EDC.I do not think there is great speed difference between the 2 but the tactile feel is much better in my newer car. On the street the difference is not that great with very little change in ride quality.I would order the ZCP again if I could.

I prefer the ride height look and firmer ride. Otherwise no real difference. With M4 given turbos there might be mild HP increase as well. Im not waiting because I'm sure aftermarket will have something by then.

Wider wheel on the same size tire makes a noticeable difference. More stretch on the tire and a wider effective offset helps with steering feel and stabity.

So what I'm getting here is that ZCP's benefits are minimal from a performance perspective?

It most likely will be the same as always. It will be a mix of parts you could add on your own and some things that you could live without

But you would also have to look forward to a better wheel package. Which I would go aftermarket anyway. Lower ride height, not low enough for my taste and I most likely will have changed suspension anyway. CCB's won't be part of the package and ZCP will leach funds from that option anyway. Looks/interior mostly the same, maybe some alcantara bits here or there, but again modding early would've taken care of it anyway.

I'm not overly taken by the comp packages. Honestly I would be happy to spec them had I not already owned an M3 and it was available to just go with anyway.

My last three M3's I've lived without it but I always missed out on the LCI version. My timing in getting one this time around may fall on the upgrade point of the vehicles life cycle
