Album Art Via XM
So my X5 is in the shop, again. I have a X3 loaner and it doesn't have XM radio on it so I'm listening to local FM in HD. I noticed that I'm pulling metadata album art for each song this FM station plays, which is very nice.
On my X5 I have only listened to XM SAT radio and I get the name of the station to show up, like The Pulse, but no album art for each song. So is anyone getting album art from their SAT radio or is it just off of FM HD? Thanks |

Correct. Only channel logos. Rumor has it they'll start to broadcast art in the near future.

Here's a good one about the Album Art.
So, yes via XM on the X5 there is NO Album Art sent, BUT, if you download the XM Radio App and run that in media mode you actually get way more features than just listening to the Radio version. You get Album Art, and song skipping if you choose a downloaded station, or you can listen live and get the album art but no song skipping. I think they used to charge extra for the App per month, but I just set it up yesterday and it works out of the box without any other fees. Cool |
