All F-models with the 8 gear automatic transmission released or manufactured after summer 2013 have Launch Control, with the exception 7. Doesn't matter if it has an M Sports package or if it is an M Performance model.

Not sure if it is different in Europe (not sure why it would be), but this is not accurate for the US, at minimum. The 8 speed automatic doesn't come with launch control, only the 'Sport Auto' version does. For the F15, that means M sport package, which is the only way you get the Sport Auto.

I tried mine and it worked. sDrive35i M Sport.
I believe the step was.
- Sport mode
- DSC off
- Shifter in S mode

then
- Left foot on firm on the brake pedal
- Right foot all the way down on the gas pedal pass the kick-down switch

About 2 seconds, the launch control notification came up.

For UK spec cars, my understanding is that you get the Launch Control with the Sports Auto Transmission which comes with the M Sport version or can be ordered as an option on its own or as part of the dynamic pack.

I have the sports auto transmission on my 40d as part of the dynamic pack but can't test it yet as I don't get it until August

Reading the online user manual it does say that the car has to be up to temp by driving a few miles before using this but doesn't explicitly say whether you will be inhibited if not by the car, is it the clever?

Well sport+ does put the car in DTC mode, is that enough or does DSC have to be fully disengaged?

Mine is an 3.0d in Msport version and the launch control works as explained.

But you really have to push hard on both brake and gas pedal to get it to work

Used to have an E43 M3 with launch control as part of the SMG box. Only ever used it 3 times, BMW warned me that more than 10 uses would destroy the clutch.. Be warned.
