New Guy Reporting In

After about a year of looking at different cars and shopping around, I finally made the decision I wanted to the entire time. I got my 2011 M3 a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. Coming from a heavily modified Subaru WRX STi I was concerned that the lack of torque (as lamented by so many online) might disappoint me. I was incorrect. Lack of turbo lag in addition to the crazy flat torque "curve" (torque plateau?) make it a non issue for me.

I'm psyched to finally own one. Here's a quick pic:

Your going to miss those super cheap aftermarket parts and working on the WRX...the M3 just is not shade tree mechanic friendly...but the high revs, speed, sound,interior and looks will squash that...

Welcome! coming from heavily modded eve X I understand what you mean, I miss the torque a lot actually but at the end of the day, doesn't even compare to the feeling I get behind the wheel of my M

It's a 2005, I'm biased but it's still my favorite year all around for the STi. I don't care for the looks of the new one but I would like to drive one, I've heard good things.

i came from a built 05 STi myself. as much as i miss it, i feel you will love the m just as much, if not more.

I'm on my 2nd M3. 2013 E92 M3 Comp pack.

My favourite is still a 22B.
