Has the door seal issue been fixed?
There were a lot of threads a couple months ago about door seals failing and folks having to take it back to the dealer. Lately not seeing complains from anyone on that subject.
I'm due to pick up my F15, hopefully in the next week or two, and trying to get myself prepared for all the issues I need to extra carefully check. For those who've taken delivery recently, are you seeing the door seal issue? For those who previously had the door seal issue, was this fixed by your dealer or was there any other solution? Thanks, |

I haven't heard anything about the fix or solution.
It is an issue, but IMO is not big enough of an issue. As long as you don't park in a tight space where you don't rub yourself otw out from the car, then you will never face the issue. It only happened to me a few times. Since, I got used to create better gap for me to get out from the car without rubbing the seal.

No issues on mine as well (received 1 month ago). The rubber seems 'firm' enough to stay in place even if I rub it slightly when exiting from the car.

Mine did the same thing for the first week or so, but now it never folds out and stays in place. I've had the car for over a month and half now.

Have my car 3 months now and had it 2 or 3 times, when I got out of the car in tight space.
So it is not a big problem Just use extra strong hair spray on it and you will be fine... |

Thanks for the feedback guys. Really helps put my mind at ease.
My car is apparently on another ship from Germany to Southampton. Dealer says it'll take another 2 weeks still to get it in hand. |

No issues here for the past 5 months
I just did a 10 hour drive and the xLine was stable and quiet on the open road The only peeve I noticed is when the sunroof is open, the wind deflector at times creates turbulence and this annoying bass-like deafening sound emanates in the interior (during low speeds) |

First delivery vehicles like mine are affected with the fold out door seal problem on both front doors. Later release vehicles have been fixed. My dealer is looking into fixing mine for free along with couple of little snags! Especially as just ordered a new 3gt m sport plus to go with the X5...

Had my first f15 in nov 2013. Second one purchased in April 2014. Second model has a slight redesign and shorter seal. No longer folds out anymore on second f15. Fix to existing models to come out in august.

Prior to taking delivery of my F15, I was very concerned about this issue. I even helped send a petition email with RickP to BMW to take a look at this issue. The last I heard was that they were to get back to us back in February. However, we haven't heard anything from them. I believe this might be because the complaints and concerns have died down.
In all honesty, I had the door seal issue occur only couple of times since taking delivery back in December. It may also be because I am a bit mindful of how I exit the vehicle as well. Nonetheless, it hasn't been a real issue, and I think we can safely put this issue to bed. I apologize if my overactive imagination of this issue made others worry. Z. |

Any update on the door seals? I have a May 2014 build and the seals are very crappy.
