M3 and M4 at local Canadian dealership - I drove the M3
My salesman called me today and said i could come over and drive the M3 that they just got in this week. The car is not sold,it is dealer stock. They also received a Sapphire Black M4 and a White M4 but they are both sold.
The M3 was pretty loaded up with options,DCT,full extended leather with the leather on the dash,19 inch wheels.I was very impressed with the quality of the interior,it really felt like you were sitting in a sports car.The seats are very comfortable and were supportive through the corners. The carbon fiber interior trim also really suited the interior. The engine has tons of torque which really makes you want to drive fast all the time.i tried all three settings, comfort, sport and sport plus and sports plus was my definite favourite. The shifts are quicker and it lets you take the corners much faster without any of the traction control kicking in.I didn't find the ride harsh at all,so i would probably just leave it set in sport plus all the time. The car definitely feels more substantial and heavier than my E46 M3 but it is still fun to drive. The electric steering is different but you still feel connected to the road and when you fly around a corner the car stays planted with little to know body roll.It is really impressive how well it handles.People are going to find it hard to drive this car slow. I was definitely set on getting the new M2 when it comes out but after driving this car it makes it a bit tougher decision.I still feel the new M3 is to big but it is still fun to drive and the interior is way nicer than the M235i.I will probably still wait for the M2 because it will be smaller and should be more fun to drive.I just hope they can upgrade the interior to be as nice as the M3 and M4. Anyone on the forum who has one of these on order should be very happy when there car arrives. My salesman did say that they are not able to release these cars to customers until the official launch of the M3 and M4 in June. Here are some pics of the M3 i drove and the Alpine White M4 that still had all the white shipping plastic on it. |

I remember the endless black interior contrast stitching brouhaha... solved by Canada. Nice.
The M2 sounds interesting but I highly doubt they will give it the interior quality of the M3. Scott26 might chime in if he sees this.

Thanks for the writeup, OP. I'm jealous of you guys getting to take these out. It makes me want to see what is in Windsor and find out if I can drive one.
This one's in Canada. No US cars on lots yet, BTW - all still sitting at port. They pay $10k more for that privilege. I can wait. |

I can't stand the angst over color choice!!!!
That black M3 looks soooooo good.
I have switched my order between SO and BSM many times already. Right now I'm on SO. I guarantee if I switch to BSM a day later some unbelievable SO pictures will surface. |

I am taking the next plane to Canada to do a test drive even though Im just 19 days away from my ED trip. Obviously Canada is too cool for this mystery software update holding up cars at the Port so I'm going North.

It could be for the reason that the Canadian cars need no modification when it came to the dash and iDrives etc, because Germany and Canada are using the metric system and not the imperial.

These ... US Americans. Why isn't there a way to change their mind that metric just is the better version of it?
