Installed one of these today and was super easy. Control box is next to the battery, 2 wire bundles run through a grommet on the passengers side. Fished the connectors through the OEM opening for the stock wire and zip tied it together. 5 screws removed/reinstalled, took all of 20 minutes.

Dinan axle back, very tame and will do exactly what you are after.

I like my MAD single resonated mid pipe. I also have the SST valve controller.

Lots of compliments on this set up. Tame inside - no drone. Loud and deep outside.

Doesnt seem like there are a lot of choices for axle back that are lower-cost. I always found axle-back exhausts a great way to get some sound improvement with an easy install & minimal cash outlay. All I can find are systems costing $2K plus. I dont have an m240 yet but I will be ordering one in a few months. Stock they seem to lack good sound so an exhaust is #1 item to upgrade.

you can upgrade the downpipes for half the price and get a lot of sound from it.

Not only that you actually gain a bit of HP and it will allow you to do add't mod's if you so chose . I love my AA Catted downpipe , the sound is perfect and it doesn't drone ....cat back is a waste of money for no gain

You can make plenty of power on the stock exhaust. If you straight piped the whole thing you only get 10-15 HP.
Primary reason for up here intake or exhaust is sound - plain and simple.

These cars are very well designed from factory, so you can just go straight into DME/piggyback tuning if you want.

Downpipe is a harder decision if you're under warranty still. Also, there is a thread around here saying a downpipe with no tune actually hinders the car more than it helps.

Id say thats debatable, because there is no data Im aware of that shows warranty issues specifically caused by running downpipes.

It's not always about the downpipe actually being the issue it's about the bullshit you have to deal with when the service dept wants to argue. I don't blame you for questioning it as you sell them so you have skin in the game. Also, don't ignore the second part of my statement because in order for the downpipe to be worthwhile you'd have to tune which means warranty is done anyway. If all you want is sound then the exhaust is the better option.

I had my dealer install my AA catted downpipe and they said no problem and don't worry . I can feel the power gain and the turbo spool is considerably louder so for those that say it hinders it ,lol , wrong

Whether I sell them or not does not change the validity or non-validity of my statement. i dont think its fair for you to go straight to that just because i disagreed with you.

I said there is no data to back up what you are saying. All you have to do is show the data and prove me wrong or admit the statement was not 100% factual.

Whether it's worth it or not is an entirely different discussion that does not affect your original claim about the warranty.

If you'd like to discuss worthiness on the downpipes, we can do that as well. We can check the data and reach our own conclusions.

I know a guy who got his warranty denied on a blown turbo because there were "signs of the downpipe having been swapped". (even though the OEM one was on the car at time of failure, and the car was on stock tune)

get more details on this issue if possible to see if theres more to the story. The dealership report would be ideal

I dont need to get more information, the person is a friend of mine and thats the whole story.

The dealer may deny your powertrain warranty for even the suspicion of a downpipe. Probably depends on the dealer
