As long as BMW keeps making the beautiful exteriors , the monster bulletproof and reliable B58, the extremely reliable and responsive transmission , the speed, handling and performance ..... I will be fine with paying a premium.

lowkey you are in the demographic that should be buying a kia then. you obviously like the things they prioritize, so you should buy those since they seem to be a better value to you

Oh I didn't know we are heading towards personal attacks. My bad everyone, clearly the 2 series that loses interior parts every year is the epitome of interior excellence. All rival manufacturers that creating great interiors for less money are clearly jealous of Donny Fontaine and German heritage.

My demographic is person willing to spend money on great car.

imagine thinking that is a personal attack captain philly 😂 youre getting hard for kia's interior and complaining about the money a bmw is for what you get, go buy a kia. you're willing to spend money and want performance and upscale interior? go buy a porsche, go buy a cadillac. since youre the demographic that brings money bags to the table. there are options if you can actually spend. tons of people love bmw for what is and if they lose your business, they won't notice or wouldn't care if they did

I can't tell just by looking at it that the materials are any better than my M240i. I really don't have any issue with the interior lighting in it either. And I like the dash in the BMW more than the Kia.

It is a personal attack, because this thread is not about me, or my preference for KIA. I don't have a preference for KIA, I was simply using them as an example of what interiors can look like at the same price point.

Anyway, done derailing this thread. Too many people here to massage their egos about their purchase rather than talk about what they want/is coming in the LCI.

Seems like you came along to justify the kia purchase. Sorry pal no self respecting car enthusiast is going to drive one. Take it easy though.

Does this mean LCI is MY25 or MY26?

Start of production for a MY has been late summer. For example, SOP for MY24 was 8/23. We'd assume SOP for MY25 would be around 8/24. What MY would BMW introduce the LCI with?

It might look better but it will fade, crack and fall apart in no-time. That’s just what KN produces. It will take a decade of that not happening for the reputation to change imo

I have owned / co-owned and driven quite a few Korean vehicles, including a Kia Stinger. The interior styling has always been on par with competitors in my opinion, at least for styling. I never keep my cars long, but my wife's 2013 Santa Fe was really showing its age badly at 9 years and 70K miles. I don't feel it held up as well as a competing Japanese vehicle. I can't comment on how new ones hold up in that department.

What I can subjectively quantify from new, especially on the Stinger which was their "halo car - Audi S5 competitor" is that the chassis is lacking compared to Japanese, or more importantly, German. It lacks the solid feel I've experience in my F22 and G42, and the 2 series is essentially BMW's base model in North America. Going over bumps just have much more solidity and heft (weight aside), whereas I always felt Korean cars felt...floppy, or loose.

I specifically recall my 2012 Sportage SX, it used really tight suspension to make it feel sporty, but the first time I took a corner aggressively, it understeered massively and the suspension hit the bump stops. I'm sure a 2023 is much better, but that vehicle killed SUVs for me, and now I hate them all!

Style-wise, t's not very promising. The new 5 series looks like a Toyota.
I'm trying to figure out what to do after my G30 540i. I don't care for the new 5 series at all. It's down to m340i or m240i (for that B58) if I stay with BMW.

They all continue to become bigger in both actual size and feel, so maybe the M340i will be enough for you. And, of course, the price of the car always gets bigger.

340i is a fantastic all round car. If I needed the extra space that’s what I’d go with

I fit a rear facing carseat with base in the back of my 240 the front passenger seat becomes kind of unusable but at 5'10" my 5'3" wife fits behind me comfortably. The trunk is a little tight able to fit a nuna demi grow in it as well as a couple of bags. Personally I wasnt ready for 4 door yet although it would probably be easier just not my thing 4 door cars.

Good question. I would think it would be a MY26.

Most of the dealerships are saying MY25 for the 2 Series LCI.

Agreed, details likely will emerge over next summer. That’s why I made this thread actually. Cross shopping this and a Land Cruiser tbh.
